Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President to Discuss 2016 Economic Outlook with DeKalb Chamber of Commerce
DECATUR, Ga., – Nov. 10, 2015 – The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce will host a General Membership Meeting on the “Economic Outlook and Financial Impact for 2016” with keynote speaker Dennis Lockhart, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President and CEO, on Thursday, November 19. Special thanks to presenting sponsor BB&T Bank.
The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Georgia Aquarium, Arctic Room on 225 Baker Street NW in Atlanta.
“Our economy has been in recovery since the 2008 financial crisis thanks in part to the Federal Reserve’s decision to keep interest rates near zero,” said Katerina Taylor, President and CEO of the DeKalb Chamber.
Lockhart, a voting member on the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), is a key decision maker on whether the U.S. will raise interest rates. The last time FOMC will meet this year is in December.
“In order for DeKalb County and the nation to remain competitive, it’s important for us to stay informed about this critical decision,” said Taylor. “In one of Dennis Lockhart’s last presentation of the year, DeKalb Chamber members and communities from across the state will get to hear about the recent economic activity and Lockhart’s perspective on where our economy is headed in 2016.”
The event is open to the public. Ticket to the event is $100 for Chamber members and $125 for nonmembers and guests. To register for the event, please visit bit.ly/Lockhart-nov19.
