New Director of Operations Joins Staff at DeKalb Chamber of Commerce
Stefani Strength, Non-Profit & Association Operations Professional, to Assume Role
DECATUR, Ga. (October 15, 2020) – The DeKalb Chamber Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Stefani Strength has been named Director of Operations at the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce. Strength officially joined the organization Tuesday, October 6th. In this new role Strength is responsible for the planning and monitoring of the day-to-day operations, supervision of staff, and liaise with the Board of Directors to make decisions for operational activities, strategic planning, and execution, as well as, drive continuous improvement initiatives that reinforce the Chamber’s mission to be the catalyst that attracts, supports, and advances business interests in DeKalb.
Strength has been in the Chamber industry for over 13 years, starting as an intern with the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber & Visitors Bureau while attending North Georgia College & State University (now the University of North Georgia). Serving as Vice President of Operations, Strength had oversight of a $900,000 organizational budget to grow and retain members as well as develop and implement the programs and strategies to accomplish the Chamber’s goals and priorities each year. The list of Strength’s successes includes directing and executing 13 annual Leadership Lumpkin programs and classes that cultivated 280 potential leaders; creation and launch of the Lumpkin Youth Leadership program for high school sophomores and the Inspire Women’s Luncheon series attracting well-known speakers to repeatedly sold-out events. She also served as the lead planner and director of the Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty Bicycle Ride for 14 years, raising over $3 million for the Chamber’s operating revenue. In 2017, Stefani led the Chamber as Interim President for six months during a transitional period, restructuring the organization and realigning its programs and events with its mission.
